Check the CDL switch and wiring, maybe the CDL is indeed engaging, but the switch/wiring is loose may be in CDL low range but the light switch is dodgy or not making proper contact.

What about your ABS light?
Is it lighting up when you push the CDL or put it in 4L? I would say IF your ABS light is not lighting up but you can hear the cdl working then your indicator switch for the cdl is frozen or needs replacing....

About 6 months ago i got a job offer as a train conductor but the offer was recinded because of my colorblindness. i had some trouble with the test with the circles with different colored dots where you have to read the numbers, but only with red/green...

On the snow/ice i dont use the CDL.
You can lock the CDL and still have your ABS if you do, a good set of snow & ice tires make a huge difference.
Is the best for on-road snow and ice conditions.

What license you hold but you only need a CDL B or they even have training for drivers w/no CDL.
