If I compared a 2.1ghz Celeron to a 2.1ghz Pentium what would be the difference? As much technical info as possible would be great. Thanks!

But an exact comparison is not possible unless.
For a Celeron, they heavily cut costs and generally, an equally clocked Pentium will outperform a Celeron.
Built in that make certain tasks perform fast.
I have a rather old Intel Celeron 2,35 ghz cpu with (from what i can tell with cpu-id) an Intel 82801 chipset. It was bought from Dell 5 years ago. I would like to upgrade to a Intel-VT capable processor. Is this possible?

Is a southbridge not the chipset I think given the age and socket it is probably a Prescott Celeron://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celeron#Celeron%5FD Intel-VT requires BIOS support as well as CPU support in mind that if you go from a ....
I've never been clear on what one is sacrificing by getting a cheaper Celeron instead of Pentium Intel CPU. I assume you can't simply compare processing speed. My understanding is summed up in this quote: *The Celeron processors are based on the same ...

While the Core i7 is certainly the Big Daddy, it is also very pricey and Intel just don't want to leave the 'medium power CPU' market segment to AMD's Phenom CPUs, hence the Core i5 to replace the aging C2D .
Of course it all marketing strategies.

Nope, the Celeron 420 is actually faster.
The 531 will be a lot better than the Celeron assuming the motherboard supports the P4 with higher 800Mhz FSB etc...
