Well, the hydrogen combines with oxygen creating the water, so it depends on the amount of hydrogen used. The amount from the tailpipe doesn't seem like much because it is a vapor and the fuel is used over time.

How do hydrogen cars work?
The same as gas except that one burns a carbon based fuel, and the other doesn't. Carbon based fuels leave deposits in the engine that leads to engine wear and a shorter life expectancy of your car. A car that runs on hydrogen lasts allot longer before needing to be rebuilt. Hydrogen burns hotter than gas and is more efficient. Hydrogen cars work but, producing them in mass quantity would not employ as many people as the current gas engine. Our tax base from fuel sales would be gone,and not as many would be produced because of their longevity. Other countries around the world would suffer because their source of income would be taken away causing a retaliation that will lead to war. So,yes they work but, even though the technology is their our government and many other governments spreads bs to keep it from evolving until they find a way to make money off of it. Propaganda and those who believe it keeps us where we are. Hydrogen can not only run our cars but,it can heat our homes and produce electricity. Technology is killed by lobbyist and special interest groups that prevent patents from going anywhere. But,you can see all kinds of evidence around the world of people showing others how to produce their own resources producing hydrogen,electricity,and different fuels. We can actually see history repeat itself through the tongues of the dismissive but,now have to add greed to it.

Hydrogen Powered cars?
Well I don't know what you mean when you say hydrogen is ver combustible. Bit no it couldn't be used in a normal combustion engine because it's a gas and not very handy to carry in your fuel tank. However you can get fuel cells which use hydrogen which you can read about here .

So how did that great Norwegian wind to hydrogen plant that we bet all human life on work out?
Rather than the system they tried in Norway, a simple battery bank. There are losses of efficiency there too, but the technology would be within the abilities of an ordinary person to maintain, and new battery technologies could be easily swapped in without rebuilding a whole installation.

Where does the water go in a hydrogen car?
The water goes in the same place as any other car. It is mixed with antifreeze and poured into the radiator.
