Is open ldap a good solution to a centralized way to authenticate users on a web site?
Was it build in the web in mind?

If you're doing an internally facing site, or a site with a closed userbase, then openLDAP would be... .
It is free, installs very quickly and simply, and has a GUI for management .
How about OpenID :)
OpenDS works pretty well for me .

This is useful not only.
On Linux you might as well send everything from syslog to the central in to the syslog daemon as well and forward them to the central collector.
They are on a unix/lnx box.

I'm running Server 2008 64-bit on my laptop. I have installed SharePoint (MOSS SP2). Whenever I launch Central Admin, it always opens up in a Firefox browser instead of IE, even though IE is my default browser. Any ideas on how I can change this?
