I'm running Server 2008 64-bit on my laptop. I have installed SharePoint (MOSS SP2). Whenever I launch Central Admin, it always opens up in a Firefox browser instead of IE, even though IE is my default browser. Any ideas on how I can change this?

How about just popping a shortcut to central admin into your IE favo**u**rites? OK, one extra step on the SharePoint Central Administration link, it executes this command: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft IE as the default browser....

Performance and OS Level Integration? GCD is much better at runtime evaluation of the appropriate level of resources to throw at a problem - OpenMP decides how many threads to invoke for a set of parallel tasks based on information like environment variables... .
We have a number of Debian servers that need to be patched and manual patching becomes an issue as their number grows. What I am lookig at is a way to push patches to the servers from the central location and have some sort of reporting on how it goes...

What should work (I've done the theory but haven't rolled it out) is using cron-apt in combination with repositories managed by debmashal to approve the patches that cron-apt will then deploy .
Puppet is great, but doesn't really handle that problem.

It does all you need, and there is good support from Windows, Linux, Unix and network devices .
It's called KerberosV5.

This will mean, however, that your connection settings are located at the site of your configuration of the datasource... .
What regulation are you attempting to be compliant with? One thing that you can do is to depend on a datasource that is exposed via JNDI .

I almost always use this jquery plugin , by Leandro Vieira Pinho, its brilliant :) I've never had a problem with its positioning, or anything thing else for that matter, easy to implement too! Use.. .
