Which of one is more important to a career: Certifications like Java, Oracle and Linux or a Master Degree on computer science?
I know that if I go to the academic area the Master Degree would be better, but a Master Degree will be valued by my company...

What advantages does a certificate hold over a degree?
If a recruiter has two applicants. One fresh out of university with brand spanking new degree, the other has 20yrs+ work experience at lower level but carries a certificate for the higher position...

That's a good point, they never use most of it, and no one ever asks for verification, if at all what degree they hold specialty....
A certification from Oracle for my specialty, which is useful in addition to the degree.

Companies understand that a degree in a specific discipline is useful, but a degree in any discipline and 2, but did have the advantage of a CS degree.
