This has been mentioned in several recent threads. When it comes to champagne, decanting seems at odds with the whole idea of cork-popping, effervescent goodness.
How do you know when a champagne should a champagne be decanted? Is it based on vintage?...

I agree with Board-O that nothing benefits a fine Champagne like age itself.
The wine needs to be aged.
I have no idea why someone would decant Champagne, unless the bottle is basically to drink.

The white or any light color will bring the Champagne "up" whereas a dark interior color like black will bring the Champagne color "....

I just picked up a very nice 2270 and was looking on the auction site and noticed they made a Champagne Engraved Faceplate but I cannot see, tell what they are talking about?
The color of the faceplate is the same as all the rest. And the lettering...

For the engraving (or stamping), the normal one is silkscreened a very nice 2270 and was looking on the auction site and noticed they made a Champagne Engraved and put her to work on a pair of K-Horns....
The champagne one is much more golden.

I'm getting married in the summer, and am trying to save some money on the drinks - so I thought about going over to France on the ferry to stock up, for what will be a free bar; Champagne, red and white wine, and some cases of beer.

Not worried about ettiquette I woud go for prosecco rather than champagne as it's muh nicer in my for the toast's, it's champagne just not made in champagne and will be a considerable saving.
