I own a TDI and I wanted to know if peope are doing more frequent oil and filter changes than that recommended by Audi's LongLife service intervals (about every 19K miles).
I used to do this on my BMW 530D- BMW oil service every 20K miles, and I myself...

Most of us won't take the TT up to those kinds of miles .
Talking about oil, remember the haldex needs an oil and filter change every 40K which it outside my RS for 2 years without an oil change.

OK I always did change my oil in my car at or around 3000 miles, but the newer cars have the computer that shows how much oil life you have , if this thing is so smart (or maybe I'm NOT! ) why at 3000 miles does it show I still have like 35 40% life left...

I honestly believe that oil change intervals can Identically...
Engines with less blowby and overfueling in cold weather.

I do 5k miles with mobile 1 If you stick to the 3750 oil change interval, you might as well synthetic oil in all its cars & recommended oil change interval was 9,000 miles.

Courious on a realistic change interval. I recently swapped over to sythetic shell T-6 along with the addition of a oil bypass system with the amsoil filter. Wish i would of done it sooner, motor has 39,500 on it.

Oil analysis said I could go anotherwrong forum my bad On my 5.9 w amoils bypass, I would change my stock filter every 7500, add 7-10k.
A quart for the filter, change the amsoil filter and oil at 30k.

I just purchased a 2006 Mazda3 with ~100k miles. I have read that the oil change intervals are 5k and 7.5k depending on the Maintenance Schedule you choose. It appears this is based on mineral based oils.

On my last oil change I ran some synthetic for 5.5k and then sent it out for an oil analysis.

Where can you get an oil analysis done? I've been thinking of going this route as well and would like like Oil Analyzers....
Best bet to extend drain intervals is to get oil analysis done and see where your oil and engine.

How did you get that oil change deal? Did you negotiate for it, or did they just offer it?
I was hoping to get some Mopar bucks as part of the deal when I take delivery on the car. I'd rather get parts than free oil changes.

Owner's manual says to change the engine oil every 13,000 km (8,000 miles) - every other vehicle I've owned was always 5,000 km (3,000 miles).
So why does the Patriot get additional engine oil life out of regular 5W-20 if it's not a synthetic or synthetic...

As RalphFR stated, there is a oil change indicator.
