How often do you all change you`r oil? i dont care what oil you use because im not intrested in starting another one of those oil war threads. just your riding conditions to mileage intervals.

I just purchased a 2006 Mazda3 with ~100k miles. I have read that the oil change intervals are 5k and 7.5k depending on the Maintenance Schedule you choose. It appears this is based on mineral based oils.

On my last oil change I ran some synthetic for 5.5k and then sent it out for an oil analysis.

Oil change intervals.... Most of you guys must do your own servicing work. So question is how often do you change oil and filter. Ive been doing mine at roughly 1500 miles. Is this abit excessive? My mates do virtually the same with there RR08's.

Have any of you frequent oil changers ever send your oil out for analysis? I'm with dust guy. Why the dust worry? Seems to me like if your that worried about dust, then there's other issues going on besides oil changes. Turbo's and hard riding, than yes...

What weight oild should I use, should it be synthetic? I'm using Rotella 15w40, and how often should I change it, 6 moths or every month?

Normally, you should change your oil every 600 into the big....
However, you could probably extend, Mobil1-4T, Rotella all make great motorcycle/atv oils.

On our Altima 3.5, which is a 2005, we have always stuck to 5 000 mile oil change intervals....with no problem at all.
But most of the newer cars, with newer oils, change their oil at much greater intervals....like maybe 10 000 miles. We looked at a new...

Other than longer change intervals, I don't see any real benefit to switching.
With synthetic oil.

Manufacturer's recommendations for the TDI engine are:
Oil change service every 10K
- change oil
- change toothed belt
- 120K is far too long for a diesel: change it at 60K
There is no oil change....

I was in the dealership the other day and asked the service mgr if he could look up my last service since I forgot to note the mileage.
I had a 30K service and hyd cam tensioners done at 32K with all new fluids and used Amsoil in the engine with formula...

I put Pennzoil ultra in my engine 4.7k miles ago, and my OLMS still says 58% oil life left. That being said can I change my oil at 10k based on OLMS readings, or will I void my warranty by going over 7.5k?

The OLM should then be reset....
I just looked at the 2009 owners manual.
It also states that the oil intervals and the OLM shows about 25% remaining oil life.
The 2011 owners manual states to change it when the OLM indicates it.
