I like the idea of getting the most from the oil in our cars. I understand that modern oils can be run a long time, but I wonder about oil seal longevity with extended oil changes. My thinking is that I'd rather change the oil more frequently and delay...

In latter case: it doesn't matter if you change your oil every 5 an active additive pack in the....
Will fail much, much sooner.
There's not reason to change oil more often thinking it somehow magically protects, etc.

Usually remove the filter.
If it cannot be from another place, then replace filter .
Did oil change little while sure you didn't spill oil there.

I took my 350 tbi to get an oil change at speed lube before work.
Watched them put in oil because I lost an firebird to them forgetting.
Drive home, turn the car off oil guage says 60. Cut it on drive 8 miles to work,

On my 2011 Triglide I put in 3-1/2 quarts.
No oil puke either.
Changed every 5k.
I change my oil, I drain it while it's hot to remove the contaminants while they are suspended change.
