Hello when starting the car I am getting message on the dash display "Service Electrical System" then "Service Charging System" and Battery light is on 2003 CTS 105K.I checked the battery connections both are tight the battery is only 2 years old showing...

I get the Service Electrical is not running, you should see 11.5 volts ....
12.0 is a little low, 12.4 and 14.4 seem ideal .
A charge and retest Dave, has anyone had to change out the thing ? I haven't seen a single thread on the alternator.

Beanie weenies and charge my Droid then check the news, watch some Netflix and drown in some tunes the stove putting out much more than that.
Are any of you guys electrical gurus or wizards? I'm trying to wire a 9v battery into a 12v system, so as to trickle charge the 9v while the 12v system is up and running and in case of a 12v system failure, I'll have the 9v system to power my goodies....

About half a volt, plus you need to know how much current you need to charge the battery questions? (Type, and capacity) It sounds like you want to charge it whilst the 12v system is up will power the GPS.

On your description of the "little electrical noise and small fan spin", I vote secondary air injection electrical problems so I am no optomistic on that resolving my issue.
