I would like to vent a pellet stove up the existing 8” chimney on a Heatilator E36 fireplace. The existing chimney is rated for 1700 degrees, so can this be done?
What is the temperature rating of pellet stove vent pipe?

There are only 2 downsides to using an ....
A pellet insert.
And unlike a Woodstove.
Many models available to do this.
Dont think the temp rating matters as much as a Stove (insert in your case) is permitted to go into a Pre-fab fireplace.

Well my osburn upstairs is doing a great job, some days too good, but I am starting to get the hang of it.
anyways the problem I have now is that when I run the insert up stairs the furnace doesn’t run and downstairs gets freezing.
so now the wife wants...

HI,
My wife and I just bought a new house—well short sale, and it has a pre-fab fireplace in it. I have been trying to find a wood burning insert that will work with it, but after 2 Quote: s(10-15k) telling me that I would have to gut the existing fireplace...

I installed a Avalon insert.
My 2 pennies Feeling the cold air some choices depending on the brand of ZC you have for a insert.
Cast insert (beautiful Multi fuel stove) and did a fantastic job.

Also, probably powered wall switch to turn unit off and on .

Just had our Napoleon 1100 installed, freestanding wood stove. Paid for a professional install, but I’m not so sure it’s a good job.
