So the clean air retards in my area seem to think that they need to further restrict solid fuel burning in an effort to clean the air in the urban centers. I live way outside of the urban centers but in the same county so my 100% wood heating lifestyle...

have got 4 quotations from stove installers to install a stove.
My idea was to cut out a bigger hole where the fireplace is an to set it back into the opening. Using top exit the flue would be straight up.

A chimney designed to operate as a flue gas duct for an open fire is by no way to reuse the existing chimney you will need to use a reducer 9"-5" ( depending on your cimney/stove/cleaning of chimney....
