I had my cholesterol checked today and the results were stunning! My total cholesterol was 160. HDL "good" cholesterol was 78, LDL "bad" cholesterol was 60, triglycerides were 69. My fasting blood sugar was 97. I am a nurse, and I see a lot of lipid panels...

My LDL was probably in the 60 - 70 range ... .
What were your results before low carb? Good question! Relying on my memory, I think my total cholesterol was in the 170s and my HDL was about 60.

Hi all,
Hoping someone might be able to help! I had my cholesterol levels tested about a year ago and was found to be on the low end at 129 (with the range being 125-200).
HDL = 61 mg/dL
LDL = 57 mg/dL
Triglycerides = 53 mg/dL
I am a vegan, so I understand...

Had some blood work done for the first time ever for health insurance purposes and got these numbers:
Total Cholesterol: 124 mg/dl
HDL: 50 mg/dl
LDL: 68 mg/dl
Triglycerides: 32 mg/dl
Glucose: 80 mg/dl
Most seemed to fall into the "healthy" range of what...

I've read more than once (Denise Minger, for one was higher in the first set of results .
For me, total cholesterol is meaningless.
Opinions/medical explanations, that far too much alarm is raised needlessly about cholesterol.

Just received my cholesterol exams and they turned out to be terrible news!! 270 total cholesterol... OMG!!! Ups.. Then I figured out that I needed a diet and exercise program and began this one.. Hope to have a lot of support from you all..

My bloodwork just came back and I have high cholesterol apparently.
I had a routine blood panel done in Jan I'm pretty sure and it wasn't high then?

I'm trying to avoid statins.
I walk as often as I can and try to eat a low cholesterol diet.
But, my bad cholesterol is low and my good cholesterol is really high, which pushes the overall number up.
