You need good off lights when not needed....
Generally grains, nuts, rice, flour and sugar are cheaper in bulk .
You save will save you money.
Meal planning is essential.
Up throwing part of it away you aren't really saving any money.

I made my own laundry detergent, and I am trying it tonight. It is powder. I grated one 4.5oz bar of soap (I used the cheap ivory) and than I added one cup of Borax, and one cup of Washing Soda. It mixes really well.
I also made some dishwasher detergent...

Just a thought, getting rid of cable TV can save almost $100 a month in some change services or something to save on our bills.

I read this recipe today for homemade laundry detergent and I thought I would pass it on. She says for $20 you can make 8-12 months of detergent. Seemed pretty easy.
