Avoid Arc'Teryx they have no padding and are for minimalist climbing harnesses for everyone.
Granted I'm not actually climbing, just Diamond is the way to go.
It A LOT better than turning a hunk of rope into a Swiss Seat .

I'm going to buy a new climbing line soon. I climb DdRt but I'm getting a rope wrench so I'm going to start learning SRT as well. Any suggestions or personal favorite climbing line.

As you add more children, you simply look up it's parent's top parent id and insert the appropriate row in... .
I would suggest creating an additional table with id and top parent id .
In my experience, SQL isn't very good at this kind of query (recursion) .
