And why its so important to get a 1:1 FSB ratio with my ram. Yes yes, there are many posts on how
to bring your FSB up to overclock your CPU but I don't see anything really detailing the pluses
frequency to 400MHz, you can run your CPU at 3.6GHz, your ram at 800MHz (DDR) and your FSB at 1600MHz

Hello folks. I just got a Q6700 with the DG33TL motherboard.
I raised the FSB timings from 266
:
BY RAISING THE FSB ALONE, I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STABLE AT 3.0GHz AS SHOWN HERE
HERE IS THE PROBLEM
:
FSB/4 x 2 = memory speed (1:1 ratio) so in the case of a 1066 FSB CPU you get the most out

I thought i`d give it a go.
After changing the CPU clock & Clock Ratio switches on the mobo`...

RAM 333mhz
Settings in Bios & dipswitches on board are all for 166/333 mhz. Clock Ratio set to max
correctly identifies the CPU as a AMD Athlon XP - trouble is it`s telling me it`s a 2800+ not 3000

clock speed? I don't see the benefit of running RAM at a greater speed than the CPU as the CPU would...
:1 ratio is not the ideal ratio, and that the higher the speed of the RAM, the better. However
overcome the latency introduced in translation across the FSB between memory and processor clocks

Why is it recommended to have a 1:1 ratio of Front-side Bus and DRAM? Does it really affect
the performance of the CPU?
much for 1:1 fsb:dram ratio being the best .
I quote from FSB:DRAM 1:1 ratio question :
The ...

Tab,the DRAM freq is of 372.2Mhz and the FSB:DRAM ratio is "CPU/7".What does this means?I have heard
: Seagate 250GB SATA2 with 8Mb buffer.
DVD drive: LG dvd writer.
When I checked this system info with CPU
better ratio means lower ratio i.e 1:2 is better than 1:1 coz we have taken FSB w.r.t DRAM!
ratio...

I can't seem to get my FSB:DRAM ratio away from 1:2, I want it at 1:1, because me $310 ram
is running at 800mhz instead of 2000 it is rated at. Here are my specs:
Asus Rampage Extreme X48
E8600 CPU
the final FSB speed used by the CPU. But that is a dynamic speed! Memory actually runs at the true base

With FSB @ 400 and 1066.7 RAM, but CPU falls to 3.60, probably not a big deal, but, will performance
/frequency/voltage while overclocking the FSB. Its worth mentioning that the EPP's dont even work unless
. They just sell the card with a bios that boots those clocks. All you have to do is buy the exact

Experienced at clocking fsb/cpu but i know that
the ratio should be 1:1 right?
Right now i have...
the CPU FSB to 320x9 =2880 with a fsb ratio of 1:1.25.
(with this i get a Adjusted memory freqency...
And if i change the fsb to 400x8 (3200) and i set the ratio to 1:1.25 i get an adjusted memory

From 7x?
b) if I'm stuck at 7x, should I just up the clock to 400 MHz so that my ram (800 MHz
) is matched 1:1? I'm fairly sure that chip can handle 2.8 GHz and more.
c) I have the CPU core voltage on auto
noob.
I hit enter on the modify ratio options and nothing happens.
Any of the other options give me
