There is much debate over whether any "flat" structure is fair. I would suggest it distributes hardship poorly (because, for example, 15% of the $30,000 a family of 5 has to live on is a lot more problematic than 15% of $1,000,000). I would also suggest...

Mitt Romney is paying an effective income tax rate of about 15%. Add on to this the corporate tax rate, (I think that the effective corporate tax rate is about 9%), and you have Romney paying a total tax rate of about 25%. A back-of-the envelope calculation...

I'm registered Democrat and usually vote democrat, but I'm kindof lost as to why dems are making such a bid deal out of this. He is within the laws regarding his taxes it appears. What gives? I'm all about people making money within the laws of our government...
