I hope a video codec for something but I can't think of what.
video HAHAHA It ran at like 2 FPS at best IF it even loaded in the crappy windows 95 realplayer.
A few years back I had problems with codec packs & codec priorities & some games (specifically X3 Reunion) so when I found out about VLC all my codec problems were just gone ... however lately I buy a lot of DVD (manga/anime) & found out two things first...

Last night i tried MPC....
There are features needed.
Can be installed (and full, advanced control over codec usage for those of us who like that ).
Votes Media Player Classic - Home Cinema is my go-to player for 95% of needs.
I've never understood why people like it so much tbh. It's not bad, but I don't see what makes it better than any other media player out there.

VLC is the whole package, the UI isn't HIDEOUS like most media players (i'm looking....
Only ever had one file from the best player.
I much prefer using Media Player Classic with the CCCP codec pack.
With it ever.

It's software conflict issue or some program has disabled windows media player from opening.

If I used Windows Media Player all my video, and resolution/fix: Suddenly all my video files disappeared from Windows Media Center, re-added....
The folders, removed and recreated the database didn't fix it .

You would need for yourself....
I don't think any 3rd party software will play Blu Ray through WM player..

Hi, i have many video codecs installed on my machine but Virtualdub only lets me choose from a very basic selection. Do i have to manually point VirtualDub to the codecs somehow? Thanks.

This means that not all the codecs....
DirectShow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.
Requires a Video for Windows (Vfw) compatible codec to decompress video.
I have Windows 7. When I play a video in Media Player it will only play the audio and not the video. Is there a repair for this problem?

That may partially explain why Windows is needed.
