Hi,
I have ripped my DVD collection to a media server, and to save space I only encoded 5.1 audio. I use Rokus and a software package called Roksbox to play the movies on our home theater system and our other TVs.
However, if I try to play them on Windows...

The video has been transferred to my computer using Media Player and Canon Software. I can burn it to a disc but it does not play directly from the computer, or via the DVD player(disc error) or computer. The error message when trying to replay the video...

Windows media player 12 constantly updating media library Why is wmp12 constantly updating the media library. Is there anyway to turn this off.It gets heavy on system resources and also slows down the player.does anybody have a solution?

Why, when I open my video folder, left-click on a video and select Open With Windows Media Player, all I get is a black screen? However, if I move the cursor to the progress bar, move it to the right, I get video stills.. There is no sound and no movement...

If for whatever reason the 32 bit version grinds to a halt and is missing a codec....
The 64 bit version (the 32 is installed as default player even on a64 bit OS) then its best to install a codec pack such as 64 bit version of K-Lite.

Remove klite, restart way that media player does, seems it is not the case though.
