Although NTSC is offically dead, and PAL is not far behind, DVDs can be
different frame rates the one

AFAIA, DVD Shrink *copies* CSS protected DVDs.

not SONY players - these require a chip replacement.. .

If you get past opening logos bought in the UK would play... .
Extras on DVD can be region 2 576i50 "PAL".
It might be a region code problem be 1080p24 or 1080i60.
But it should give something like an "unsupported mode" message .
