The debt is often sold to a collection agency who then owns the debt and can sue to collect.
It does not mean you don't still owe.
It off their books.

I asked halifax to stop all payments on the account the link to it myself maybe someone else can find it that deals with a debt you dont know of.
The halifax bank is through debt collectors .
