I saw a thread like this rcently- but didnt take much notice of the answer- as it didnt apply to me at the time.
i painted this little china town scene- and it was about darks and lights- one side of the street in dark- the other light- all sorts of purples...

Paint with muted, grayed areas, and transparent....
--Lay in intense colors early, if any are to be used.
I also use it as a shadow color with some there is shade or shadow.
Use the same mix to make it so that can muddy colors.

Hi, been struggling with the colors on *flexisign pro 8.1 and mutoh valuejet 1304* when i send the image it prints so dark, even when i send just simple lettering,
If i send sky blue it prints navy blue,
If I send gray comes out black.
If i send a picture...

Hello! I have dark brown eyes and decided to change it up a bit. I almost splurged on some Waicon Trikolor Azure but decided, "Nahh! I'm gonna save my money" and opted to just get Freshlooks Colors (regular, not colorblends) in Blue.
Boy am I glad I did...

I am not much help since I have similar eye colors eyes look more blue, browns/purple more hazel, etc.
I actually think the browns work better for me since I have dark circles for me and it does make them pop out a lot.
Purple or brown.

Note:I'm not saying to get rid of the new colors. I just think it would be really great if the old colors were brought into the new styles. Please Scroll Down to see my SUGGESTED Palette! If maybe they were released in three shades instead of two.

I totally get why the colors changed; the old forums were tied to the style of the old bn.com.
I like that the new forums are crisp and clean and in the new bn.com style.
