just reinstall the nvidia drivers...i had this issue today fiddling with the Digital Vibrance settings in nVidia control panel? I'd reduce them, if I were you.

I use Nvidia's control panel to change my monitor's brightness (to make colors darker). It works fine, the problem is that whenever I start Windows, the settings go back to default and I have to keep activating it. Any way...

This is an on-going issue, many people have this problem, yet, literally for years, Nvidia has not done anything to remedy the situation...
As many of you probably know, getting a game to keep your calibrated colours...

Yes It could be on over heating issue.
When you changed the OC settings back to default did you save and ok your way back out .
My guess would be that the OC settings are at fault here still .

I remember my old Radeon graphics drivers which had a number of overlay effects or color filters (whatever they are called) that would render the screen in e.g. sepia tones or negative colors. My current NVIDIA card does not seem to have such a function...
