At Codegarden we announced uCommerce, which is a fully integrated e-commerce package for Umbraco 4.0.Hi, The only other package I'm aware of is umbraco commerce It doesnt look like it's been updated.

Satchmo is an open source framework for building online stores with Django. .
Ubercart (a module for Drupal CMS) is very good and modifiable .
What's your preferred e-commerce payment gateway for a site doing roughly (U.S.) $100,000. In order of preference, I've used Chase Paymentech, Authorize, SkipJack and PayPal but I'd like to know if there's something better out there.

Volume is important but what is the average transaction size? What kind of transactions? Frequency? How secure do these transactions need to be? What kind of fulfillment methods are necessary? I ask because if the transactions are not frequent, PayPal... .

Magento is replacing other open source cart, and becoming the best, in terms of functionality and... .
Magento Shopping Cart- they are using Zend Framework.
Both are widley supported and have a large community base .
Have a look at Zen Cart or osCommerce.

Unless you are a huge name business people are going to trust paypal/google checkout more than a custom solution .
Personally I don't have a problem with it.

There's many bits and pieces that make up an e-commerce site with it should give you a good....
It's a very good question; unfortunately e-commerce is a niche even now, and so there aren't very many practical manuals available.
