Also be advised that AOL's mail servers are pretty psycho about who they receive mail from.
A packet capture showing the SMTP conversation would be useful here, probably more so than the contents of your mail log.

Now on to the problem. The client has a new PC running Windows 7. I need to get the OS to see AOL as the default mail. However when I go into the Default programs, AOL is not listed even though the desktop version...

Click on the "AOL" icon, located in the left pane.
Good Luck Zonie If AOL is not showing up in the list of available programs you can try to add programs currently installed.

Sorry this really weird, but I just got the new aol page, and in my page where my messages are there were ads on the the right side, which I got rid of with Adblock...so now they're gone, but I can't expand the page to read the whole line...
