Is there a way to slow down my development computer to try to replicate a defect that only occurs intermittently on a slow machine?
(For what it's worth, Ableton Live has a CPU usage simulation feature, but I've never seen something like this for debuggers...

How do you log a event if the program process is halted or when the processing computer is down?
I'm using Microsoft Enterprise library to do all my logging but I'm not sure how to log the above situation.

The best you can do is an external monitor program, but that can't really tell much about what happened unless you litter your code with "twitter"-style logging; "I'm not attempting to contact the database... .
There is nothing to do the logging.

Sometimes when my Win 7 machine has programs that crashed, maybe Firefox, or IE, I would like to shut down the computer without installing any Windows update. That's because I worry that if IE or Firefox crashed, the system is not in a very stable state...

Hi!
Last night my computer seemingly broke down completely. I wasnt looking at it when it happened, but I could hear the entire thing shut down. It was only idling in desktop at the time... Afterwards I could not power it back on.

Some updates put that little shield indicating that the computer needs to be rebooted. Is that shield a registry key? I thought it was the key:

It's a little hard to discern, but also maybe hints that VS2008 ClickOnce is .
This presentation looks to say that VS2005 ClickOnce is not FIPS compliant .

Might seem like a bizarre request, but is there anyway to run .NET apps on a locked down machine without installing the runtime? If a set of my users is going to working on machines that are totally locked down, no .NET runtime and no way to install it...

What version / SP of Windows....
Only chance coding in something that doesn't need a runtime: C++ / Delphi, etc.. .
The runtime must be installed by someone, either by the default windows installation on the box, Windows Update, or an administrator .
