What about Zoho Sheets ?
I use GetDropBox extensively, and so long as you turn on the option within Excel to allow co-editing of workbooks, then multiple people editing the same Excel file works....
Documents and spreadsheets online.

Bit of a strang fault a version of excel from 2002 If you need to run any tools against the file take a copy of the corrupt....
To the spreadsheet in word, so I do not need the original excel spreadsheet to work in excel.

In most cases the math itself won't help you with this .
On the other end you have data mining gurus in a special mindset that helps you in software development.
Of data in spreadsheets by staring at Excel charts.
