Hi,
I have 3 computers in my network, two running Windows 7 and one running Windows XP. I've set up a homegroup on both Windows 7 computers. Also, all computers are in the same Workgroup.
The problem is that one of the Windows 7 computers makes all shares...

Here's some good info from Microsoft on dealing with it: Windows 7 & HomeGroup....
You have to share and secure files the 'old fashion way' - similar to what would be done in XP or Vista.
Vista and earlier versions of Windows.

My laptop was built with vista, can I update it with windows 7 ? Should I expect a more responsive system ? I asked a while back about updating with xp and was told "not a good idea" thanks in advance. jeff

There's a known bug in Vista where sometimes computers that do not require situation.
Windows 7 is coming out this issue resolved.
I wouldn't bother worrying with activating Windows Vista at this point.
