I am going to be building my own house soon and i was hoping for some input from experienced carpenters. i was thinking of going with 2 by 6 outside walls. my thinking is integrity and more insulation as i live in southern louisiana ( very hot). any input...

True, depending on the height of the wall you may need 2x6.
Especially taller balloon walls.
For walls - is good for the added depth of the wall cavities = more dense insulation = higher energy.

Try to leave a foot or so if possible around the breaker box to start framing. This way you have access to the sides of the panel if you ever want to add anything to it. So picture it as making a window box around the panel that is about a foot larger...

Given that in-wall speakers need a substantial depth, is it structurally OK to remove the required amount of block material in order to accommodate in-wall speakers?
Walls are plasterboard dot and dab on block-work.

A good framer always sights all the studs, so the straighter wall theory is mere speculation. My bids are always increased for 2x6 framing. More weight, more nails, more $$. Using them on interior walls is pointless unless there is plumbing involved. ...

I glue the foam to the wall then screw the furring stripsthru the foam, to the wall or other wall covering.
I use 2" XPS foam board, and prefer the type with notches in it to allow furring strips .

No problem. I just can't remember any information or study on sealed crawls where the poly on the walls was ever questioned as a potential problem. Personally, I don't see what issue it would cause. any moisture through the walls would still come through...

I then cutI spray the ceiling with minimal overspray then I spray my trim and then sand the walls and cut in and roll the walls.
When doing new construction I spray the ceilings first, then the walls.
