In late October, my motorbike was seized and crushed for having no insurance or MOT.
I got the court summons and in the list of charges all the dates say early September. The statement provided by the police officer has the correct date on it though.

Today, 00:06 Some courts are willing to give young drivers who make silly mistakes with insurance, it is a gamble but probably worth taking since your licence is liable to be revoked if you are convicted.

This doesn't just apply to young drivers either, there are tens of thousands that takes a driver from being "green" to competent in stages with appropriate insurance fees.
