I've not cooked much in recent years for reasons I won't bore people with but as I was chopping onions and leeks today , I realised how much I missed it.
Just wish I wasn't so sensitive to onions that the smell stays on my hands for days no matter what...

Sometimes I just steam them.
I like to add lots of parsley to the water .
Sure you can boil them.
I do that when I want eggs and potatoes in the AM Sure dh likes them boiled .
I microwave them and then slice them and throw them in a skillet to brown .

We eat a lot of salmon (usually buy wild caught frozen salmon from Trader Joe's or wherever I find it on sale) and for a while I've been annoyed by the white stuff (fat?) that kind of oozes out with my usual way of cooking at a moderate temp in the oven...
