For those of you that own both-I know some of the PCs have a slow-cooker function on them, BUT which do you use the most,(prefer)?
I use the PC the most. It's so fast that I can do a roast while I clean the kitchen or do laundry, pay bills, walk dogs,...

Overall: I have used microwave rice cookers.. The Breville was the first electric rice cooker I have bought and it cooks perfectly every time.

How do I cook dry pinto beans so that they are soft without using a pressure cooker? And should I add salt during or after cooking?

So, don't soak them in the kitchen cooking dry beans....
I rinse them, put them and never gets soft, it stays somewhat crunchy no matter how long you cook them.
I have been cooking dry beans for years and years, and I never soak them.
