This is a test with a small wind meter to see if the lightweight cooling fan moves more air then the stock. I was curious because of the weight savings between the two you would think that could make a loss in how much air flows.
Some pics of both fans...

I recently read an article saying you can overclock an i5 750 to perform almost as well as a core i7 975 extreme (factory settings). But obviously this requires some serious cooling.
Is installing a water cooling solution expensive and complicated?
I ...

Every summer we have to shut down some equipment due to a combination of outside temperature and high load. The air conditioners just can't keep up. As we cycle in new equipment and cycle out old, it would be nice to know if we are making our cooling ...

cooling is typically measured in "tons" (for instance, my company's data centers has 15, 20 and 30 ton cooling units depending on room design).

I think it might really depend on which water cooling system you go with though, and various other little features.
I think you just have to get two compatible processor modules and add it to chain of cooling tubes to the radiator.

My tower server is packed with hardware and could possibly overheat. 2 Opteron CPUs, 8 DIMMs, 4 hard drives all in an Antec P182 ATX case (not EATX/SSI/MEB/whatever) and the temperature of the box in spite of all the premium cooling fans (at room temperature...

If you're looking then..
Its supposed to be a very efficient way of cooling.
As far as I know there's no noise, but I've never done it myself .
If you want a quiet solution I would recommend water cooling.

So I have a Compaq CQ50-215CA and my sister was using her laptop on her bed and I was just using it quickly to check my email. The surface of the laptop was really hot and I opened Speccy to see that the CPU and GPU temperature was 96 C. A couple months...

85+ = Hot! Go much of a fan of the cooling....
70-85C = Heavy use, consider moving to flat surface, elevating, or cooling it.
There are various things you can do to cool it down, aside from a cooling safe.

I'm attempting to figure out the power/cooling draw for some old servers that I'd virtualized.
Starting with info in this question , I've taken the 880W the old boxes appeared to be drawing (according to the APC logs), and gotten 2765 BTUs/hr, or 1 ton...

For the electricity you use to power the systems, but also the electricity used to cool them.

I have and amount that the fans run.
Between the fans and the surface doesn't increase, then you won't see any improvement in cooling.
