Correct...so if you cannot....
While running as 4 core OCed @ 3.89 GHz my Socket temp goes upto 55-57 C while running Prime95 upto 2 hours, in this case can I assume that core temp should be at least 7-8 C below socket temp.

Did i understand that right ? (sorry, if its annoying) when unlocked you never get to see core temp which one ....
You can take the socket temp vs the core temp in hwmontor as a quad.
Will be the CPU socket temp.

I-7-cpu-temperatures/ What Quad core are you using specifically and what are you using to monitor your temps? Thanks for the link I'm using a q8400 core2 quad and onboard temp monitor via a pro version running rig.

Hey guys. Just recently got my new rig up and running and everything is going pretty well so far (with the exception of my PSU squealing while under load). My core temperatures all idle @ ~25C, but when I run a small FFTs test in Prime 95 I observed some...

So I'm a bit new to overclocking, and I really like how simple it has been with my 2500k. I've been running 4.2 with everything else on auto for a while, but I recently got curious how far I could push it (most likely I'll go back to 4.2-4.4ish).
I'm ...

I am using this gadget and have the most recent version. It will not show any clock speeds above stock speed. I am at 4.8 and it is not showing above 3.3. CPU-Z shows me at 4.8 GHZ. Not sure what the issue is.
