My coretemp occasionally did that, just reinstall it a few times until it's reliable .
Could some kind soul give me some advice about CPU thermal gel. I pulled my heat sink/ fan up to get some badly clogged dust out and now I am thinking I need to clean off the old thermal gel that was there and re-apply new gel. I didn't even think about...

For some reason I got a ton I got a ton of nasty stuff this last two months.
I try to get any dirt/dust out every 3 months .

But just use a gadget to watch CPU temp.

The whole thing is that when unlocked there is nO core temp available to Core Temp for a reading so and note the differential between CPU (socket) temp and core temps.
