would gold be found say upto 10kms downstream from its source? its a fast flowing creek in flood but most the time it doesnt run.

I've usually used worms/small mepps/rapalas, but as the time spent on the river increased it's felt like it's time to... .
It's a great place to spend a weekend camping/hiking/fishing.
Familiar turf, although usually from the other side of the Mississippi .

I like to hunt creeks and when I first started I would look at my topography map and choose creeks to hunt at random. After a while of doing this I started to realize that points don't travel very far down creek and that anything I found was usually not...

I know a few years back, I found a very large mosasaur skeleton coming out very far up a small north Texas creek.
I think that the artifacts in our creeks move more than people think.
