Lenses-Crop Factor on 7D Confirm please a 70-200 L becomes a 110-320, add extenders 1.4 so becomes 155-450 and yes loose 1 stop. A 24-105 is 38-170, extenders don't fit !
Question, I need a walk about so Tamron 18-270 comes top of the list every time....

Re: Lenses-Crop Factor on 7D I would go for quality rather than range
A Tamron would become 29-432 Re: Lenses-Crop Factor on 7D It doesn't really magnify, just crop the image.

Im seriously considering purchasing the Eos canon 7D. But I'm concern with the crop factor thats associated with the 7d. From my research this can be an issue depending on the type of lens, because it can hinder the full potential of the lens. Can anyone...

Yesterday 08:12 PM Hi guys just wondering what lenses you will use with the 2x crop factor?
I'm guessing my 11-16 Tokina will come in very handy at 22-32 may have it Duclos modded.
My 14 mm f2.8 Canon will be a 28
but anything beyond like my 50mm 1.2 ...

Full Frame vs Crop
Just out of interest, (mainly because I was reading the d600 thread :) ) I was wondering what the advantages or disadvantages are of having full frame over a cropped body?

Less reach - with the crop factor (and all things reach due to APS-C crop factor, lack of built in flash (unless you're a Nikon shooter) and some bigger and heavier lenses....
To cost more than similarly spec'd crop cameras.

Dylan Oh man of a 135mm, use a 85mm....
DSLRs have incredible DOF and low light to begin with, and after a while you learn to compensate for the crop factor.
Unless your used to using FF, the crop factor shouldn't bother you.

Hi guys,
thought I should share this, in case you are thinking about getting one.
impressive from 2.8 to 11, sweet spot 4- 5.6, diffraction starts to be a factor at 11, @16 still usable, but barely, 22 destroys the image,
full size and 100% crops on my...

How about an infinity focus test (if you're not surrounded by brick... .
It doesn't look bad at all.
Thanks.
Would have been more interesting if Sigma brought out their 30mm F1.4 .
Color looks nice though.
Sadly this is the only native normalish lens on NEX .

What do you think... is FF going to edge out the crop sensor? Are all of the current NEX lenses destined for a museum?

It would be a boon for landscape....
If size were no longer an issue, would you want a crop-sensor? The Zeiss 24 would now actually be a 24.
Is FF going to edge out the crop sensor? Are all on.
Poopypants.

Crop 50mm F/4 = Full frame 80mm F/6.4 (I think)
Now I am sure there are equations and what not that prove or disprove this but my understanding is a lens on a crop body gives the same look as a lens full frame on a full frame 1.6 times longer and 1.6...

Am I right? Does it... .
The "crop factor" is only for FL and DoF at the same FoV.
It on.

This has bothered me for months now, only just remembered to get it posted for someone to educate me!
Take 2 cameras - a Canon crop and a Canon FF.
On the crop, we put a 10-22 lens. On the FF, we put a 16-35.
The FOV is identical.
Which pairing suffers...

The crop factor is an advantage for what I bought it for which great enough to cover FF-sized sensor) on a crop body as compared to a 16mm on FF?
If yes, why do great enough to cover FF-sized....
To the difference more in time though.
