After disembarking in Port Canaveral, we like to spend the day at DD just to get a wee taste of Disney...no parks, one day tickets are too pricey. So, we'll spend some time at DD, spend time at the resort pool...

I take my vote back.
I voted for Dolphin before reading your post, lol, didnt realise you were NOT doing parks at all.
Are comparable (factoring in resort and parking fees at the Dolphin), I'd go with the Dolphin.

Looking for recommendations for both. These will be our 2 excursions. We swam with the turtles in Barbados (awesome experience!), but that was out in the open sea. What is it like with the Dolphins?

I found the Dolphin site in Cabo - AWFUL! No, we would never do that, the tanks it if the dolphins are not free in the open.
The best.

I love POFQ, ....
However since you can't use DME with the Dolphin, I'd have to get a town car to get back and forth from the airport, so would have to add another $120.00 or so.
And using a nurses discount can get Dolphin for $265.00 more.
