Dominican Republic vs Cuba Looking at going all inclusive to either DR or Cuba. Concerned mostly about the food. Stayed at a 5 star in DR, food was good.

If you choose Cuba, I'd definitely stick to a resort with a little higher rating than you would stay at in Dominican....
Personally, I prefer Cuba.
Cuba all the way If food is your major concern, don't go to Cuba.
Enjoyed that.

So as an American citizen with no Cuban heritage I am "strongly discouraged" by my Govt. from visiting Cuba. But, I'd still like to see it.
The way I understand it is that it is not illegal to "be" in Cuba, but it is illegal to spend money there. I doubt...

We stayed at Melia Las Dunas on Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba.
If the food is important to you, then the DR is much better than Cuba.
If the beaches are important to you then Cuba is the place to go.
