I have a cyst on my ovary could it be ovarian cancer?
You most likely don't, Ovarian cysts are very common among women today. If it was a tumor instead of a cyst, that is when its dangerous. source
Scheduled TLH Ovarian Cysts - Do I need to be concerned?
My ultrasound last year showed a small ovarian cyst. The doctor sent me for a followup ultrasound after my next period, and the cyst was gone. I had another cyst this year, about 2 cm, and when I consulted with the GYN who performed my surgery he said the cyst looked suspicious and he wanted to get a good look at it. Although I wanted to keep my ovaries, I signed a release that he could remove both ovaries and other tissues if, during surgery he felt that the situation warranted it. Once he got a good look, the doctor simply drained the cyst. He explained later that it was a common fluid-filled type and it's possible I've had them before and never knew it. However, I was happy that he got a good look at it. source
Ovarian Cysts?
I was having problems with cysts before I got pregnant so they've been watching them even more closely since I got pregnant. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems that I didn't already have pre-pregrnancy, such as discomfort during sex. They have started to go down on their own now and are almost gone. This isn't a first for me and they do run in the family. Most of the time, they will go away on their own. There is the risk of them bursting but that isn't common. They usually just watch for precautionary purposes. source

IBS or Ovarian Cancer?
The CA125 test can be useful, but it can be elevated by several other conditions other than cancer so there needs to be a lot of follow up when it is elevated. That is why they don't do it routinely on most women as too many who have something harmless that isn't bothering them will have to undergo a lot of testing they do not need to sort it out. I'm not saying don't do it, but be aware it isn't all that specific for cancer. IBS is very common and ovarian cancer is relatively rare so there can be a few misdiagnosis but the vast majority of IBS is because it is IBS. If the original poster tends to health anxiety they may need to be careful about how much testing they insist on and make sure they aren't making the anxiety worse. Sometimes the more tests you have the more anxious you get even when all of them are normal, and if you get enough tests long enough one of them will come back with an abnormal number eventually Every lab test has an error rate, and the normal range excludes a few healthy people who run just a little high or low on any given test. I've got one test that runs low but isn't in the clinically relevant range, so it can happen to anyone. A certain amount of "what is this" worry is normal, but we do seem to get a lot of people with some health anxiety issues here. source
