I am really getting antsy to replace my D300. I have the D800 and really want to bump the quality up in my dx format camera. Love my D300 but it's time to move on. Is there anything in the Nikon lineup now that would satisfy me or should I keep waiting...

I am not sure if the D300 is out yet, I have not ran into anyone using it.
I akin the D300 to compete more with the Canon 5D.

Personally, I'd like to see a D7000 successor at 24 MP and a speed demon D300 successor at 16 MP that it will actually perform better than the d300 at ISO 1600 and above?
