Hi,
I've pretty much decided to get a 50mm F1.8 to use for sort of informal family portrait(ish) work. I quite like that short telephoto view, and my other lenses all have the small apertures of consumer grade zooms.

Soft at 100% Not me my pictures.
I went through all my photos from vacation and I am very happy with the results. I processed them and made any adjustments I needed to make. I have noticed however that on many (not all) of them when I now look at 100%...

But why worry if it's only soft at 100%.
I don't know how "long" you were shooting to match) is soft at 100%.
I am using a D80 with the kit 18-135mm lens.
In the 1/40-1/80 range.

Nifty Fifty? I hear all this hype about the nifty fifty. I assume its a 50mm lens but i was hoping someone could explain it in more detail for me.
