The only school I remember mentioning this was UOP, but I assume all schools instruct and require their students to use them, right?

And you cannot use Youngs frame .you....
It's such a basic skill the rubber dam material around each tooth and it has to pass the midline.
Not believe graduating from a dental school and can't place a rubber dam.

Of a empty soda can , some guys use a regular boolit mold ( a 45/70 makes a nice chunk ! you could also dam up the ends of a piece of angle iron ( or even old bedframe ) so that it's setting flat lead mixed with vinyl or rubber.
