If I am being materialist I would say the handmade cards and efforts/crafts... .
And my dad and both nephews are all right around that same time, we usually have a big family get together and have been more focussed on the kids than the mums.

What can you tell me about the "gifted program" for kids around age 10? I got a call from my daughter's teacher ( one of my twins )... and she asked me if we would allow my daughter to be tested for the gifted program. I don't know what that really means...

Pretty self-explanatory question. Myself, I always got way too much as a kid, and only a few gifts really stick out that I still remember now. Where is the line between enough to honor the holiday and so much that they'll never appreciate anything?

It usually winds up being one "big gift" per kid, and then a small from the rest of the family that we kept it to one "Santa" gift and a couple of things from us.
We don't have a quota per se.
