My computer is an HP Pavilion a1630n. I think the recovery partition on my computer is infected with viruses because whenever I use it to restore my computer to factory default, the viruses come back even after i install antivirus immediately afterwards...

The hard drive using a program like DBAN, will the recovery disks still work on my machine? Please read Media Center a1630n desktop is almost 6 years old, so HP will not have a recovery disc kit available for it for purchase.

I have Vista Ultimate on my T30 and would like to get back to XP Pro, but the 9 discs (3 sets of 3) that came with it won't restore it to factory settings.
After inserting and completing discs 1 & 2, disc 3 says "Remove any diskettes or CDs from the drives...

I have it on a floppy drive and a CD but I am than this if you wish to prevent recovery of the contents of a drive you're selling.
I have used DBAN several times and without a hitch.

So you think the data on that old Hard disk, SSD and whatever has been erased therefore no recoverable data. Guess what, there are people/labs that can recover data if you do not erase or destroy that data properly.

enough" and faster than dban.

Ok so I put together a muuh faster computer than my previous.( its been 4 years). My problem is I am addcited to "wiping" drives with killdisk or Dban lol. I still have the same 1TB HD from my old system but for some reason the same "wipes" are taking...

I use a combination of DBAN and MASSter disk is inside the machine, but there's no need to tear anything apart to use it.
