I am totally new to dbpoweramp and just ripped a few CDs. One disc I had a problem with. Several tracks had to re-rip frames giving me a status of 'insecure'. The CD I was ripping is brand new and has no scratches. What could be the issue here? Several...

Sometimes EAC will read through errors that dBpoweramp won't.
Then try EAC.

dBpoweramp and want to use the dMC Tags plugin for other formats, then you might want to disable the Ogg/FLAC, which don't require any additional software like dBpoweramp, which replace dMC Tags for some as a bonus to people who use both....

I'm very limited on time at the moment, so I can't provide more information ATM, but try googling for "set correct reading offset" and "set correct writing offset... .
Your problem comes from reading and more importantly writing offset of your optical drives .

I am relatively new to the BDP-1, so this is what I have done so far:
Bought new version of dbpoweramp and ripped my CDs to FLAC Lossless Uncompressed
Using SSD external drive
Using mpod on my iphone as control interface

Perhaps using dbpoweramp the metadata issue is not something we need to worry about with either format, ....
With dbpoweramp used to rip, and if I ripped to WAV, at what point or how we'd give the nod to WAV.
The nod to using FLAC encoding.
