I need your help for my art project. What things do people use that have a function and are decorative? My theme is 'Functional and Decorative'

Hope this helps! seats that are functional but also decorative, um, cars pencils, shoes, doors and other what nots.
Can hang from your car's rear view mirror (there are some decorative ones).

Here's what I run into.... if I leave the switches too far out from the wall, the plate doesn't sit flush with the wall. If I tighten the switches closer to the wall, the switches (Decora style) don't stick out through the hole enough. Problem is that...

I can see the mirror ones having the same problem.
Its almost like you need, bears, etc.
mirror plates are 3/16" thick but without the hollow back of a normal plate.
