Some brands cost a few grand for a reason.
Whichever you choose, you pay for what you get.
Then, spots.
PM AndyF on this forum, there is a smart upgrade available for not much money .
I'd consider a headlamp upgrade before/as well as spots.

I won't easily put any other tyre on my overlanding vehicle.. .

Often to know how to attack a system to know how to defend it.
I think so.
Would you better defend yourself, if you learned how to fight?

From various forums it appears that AVG 9.0 disables Microsoft Defender. Is there any way to stop that behavior?

This is no longer the case....
I used to install AVG Free on all PCs that I worked on and cleaned/formatted for people .
They keep adding unnecessary bulk and don't have that great of a detection record either .
AVG has really been dropping the ball lately.

However, your best bet is to go in to "Computer Management" then "... .
I do not think it is possible to completly remove without the aid of a tool such as Vlite .
Not that I know of, but you could stop it bothering you by setting the service to disabled .
