Defragmenting your drive any faster than ....
2) Directory really doesn't affect layout on disk.
As far as making disk access faster, you could try defragmenting your drive the initial run.
Access can be avoided.

RAID0 (not really a RAID to me - JBoD maybe) is nothing but a striped set of disks so that it is PRESENTED as a single disk.
