I'm sure this has been asked before. But i can't seem to find the answer.
Is it better to delete spam, or put it in the spam folder????
I never open them, just send to the spam folder.
I'm using Yahoo email.

I'm setting up a GMail account for my child but need to be able to automatically get rid of the spam before I hand it over. I currently have a filter set up ( Is:spam ) that will auto-delete anything that GMail sends to the spam folder, but it ends up...

I assume is the Thunderbird-internal Spam filter, where you can probably delete any Spam right away with Thunderbird message this I by design....
I'm afraid there isn't a function implemented into Gmail to auto-delete Spam.

A friend of mine is having problems with large numbers of "Your EMail was Undeliverable" type messages coming into his inbox.
The original messages contain a 'Please Send Money' scam and were not sent from my friends account, someone is just spoofing ...

It was all spam....
Fortunately, I've always had multiple mail accounts so checking it for new emails .
Just something to consider: if the ISP isn't doing some proper spam filtering, you might want serious spam problems with that account.

At the mail client level, using Email client rules (like the ones available in Thunderbird) is easy: just set a rule that delete any email marked as SPAM in the subject.

With the large increase of spam, I suggest that where it is obviosauly spam, we just delete it. where there is some question over it being spam or real, we move it to the quarantine forum and contact the poster. But for stuff that is definitely spam, ...

There is so much new spam in the quarantine forum that listing the new posts only shows a screenful of spam posts - the real posts are getting swamped.

I have been making presentations lately on phishing and how it all starts: with an email. During those sessions, I often ask "How many of you delete your phish spam"? Typically lots of folks raise their hands in admission -- and I used to do the same....

Best thing to do with spam is ignore are worse no better than the original ....
What you did was bordering dumb stupid not really smart .
Get a good spam filter or an email guard where email senders have to prove to go.
And delete....

That's because there is no way to auto delete Spam
Yahoo delete it once a month or you cam click on
the delete button next to the Spam in the left
hand column.
