Hi All,
I have a relative who has had a "borderline" diabetic diagnosis for years but has stuck his head in the sand about it because diabetes is, in his mind, only a fat people's disease.
Now he is being slapped upside the head with peripheral neuropathy...

He's been diabetic for about 1-2 years even borderline diabetic, but have had PN issues due to intolerances stemming from gluten.
The neuropathy because I have a good friend who has it in his feet.

Diabetic complications are less in the 5s but only with totally nondiabetic numbers can you avoid diabetic complecations. Dr B says you can even get them, minor ones and to a lesser extent, with an A1C of 5.0. He recommends to avoid ALL diabetic complications...

Robert,
Do you have any problem with your lower back? I ask because my neurologist has never tried to connect my neuropathy with my diabetes. Of course, he is treating me for my back and I have neuropathy but it is directly related to the back problems...

Seems like there is no positive test Doctor....
Hmmm..since the Doctor knew I was diabetic he assumed the neuropathy was related to my diabetes.
So it might not be diabetic neuropathy.
But it wouldn't identify the cause.

I had neuropathy itch is when I abuse my diet and my sugars go over 140mg/dL.
Ignoring the pain...as you now know...isn't really an option.
