I have an app that starts 10 threads. Each thread does it's work and waits (using the producer consumer model). So when more work comes along, one of the threads is unblocked and it does the work.

In production code, you may not wish to use die() to handle errors - you could perhaps run some custom code to deal with....
You don't necessarily need
or die()
But you should have some'.
Consider not having the or die there.

From experience I would is that you should start with the motherboard; you could consider ordering a new one and using.
Been doing any overclocking, you should definitely consider toning it down.
