For most people losing weight, a healthy diet and exercise is required, and one of those comes easier than the other. I like all food and eating, so eating a healthier diet is not as challenging for me as getting in my exercise on a continual basis.

Ok, I've been of shape, so to ask myself to burn 600-800 cal a day in exercise and only eat 1200 is crazy (BMR, exercise, normal activities) ....
That includes making up for calories burned through exercise.
To not eat below BMR.

I started myfitnesspal two weeks ago and have found it excellent, being a techie I've really enjoyed having an online tool to keep a track of my diet.

You'll lose weight up to a certain point and then you'll I did primarily diet and let the exercise be secondary.
Weightloss is more diet then exercise.
